Lipedema Research

In early 2019, the Lipedema Foundation, in partnership with advisors from the Lipedema patient and research communities, launched the Lipedema Foundation Registry — an initial confidential survey to help understand the condition. After three years, they’ve compiled the Registry First Look report, providing perspective on the diverse experiences of people with Lipedema. The report includes data from 521 people, representing 14,556 years of lived experience with Lipedema.

Understanding and Preventing Blood Clots and Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Blood clots are a serious medical condition. That’s why it’s important to know the signs and get treated right away. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) developed a helpful guide that describes ways to prevent and treat blood clots; symptoms; medication side effects; and when you should go to the emergency room.

What Cancer Survivors and Caregivers Should Know about Lymphedema

Cancer patients may develop Lymphedema after lymph node removal during surgery, radiation to the lymph node area, and/or by the tumor, if it blocks part of the lymph system. Increased white blood cells due to leukemia or an infection can also limit lymph flow and cause lymphedema. The American Cancer Society created an informative overview of the condition, treatment and what caregivers can do to help.
