What is Merino wool?
Merina wool is the world’s finest and softest wool. Its natural benefits are so great that no other fiber—natural or synthetic—can match it.
Unlike synthetics, which are industrially produced from non-renewable fossil energy, Merino wool is a natural fiber from Merino sheep. Every year, these sheep produce new fleece, making wool a completely renewable fiber. Manufacturing products with Merino wool has minimal environmental impact.
Why did Juzo decide to use Merino wool in a compression sock?
Merino’s ultra-fine fibers are smooth, soft and itch-free, so the socks are very comfortable. This wool has natural temperature regulating properties to help keep feet cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s not—so you can wear them year-round. The wool also is odor-resistant. We offer the socks with 15-20 mmHg or 20-30 mmHg of medical compression and suggest them for people with poor circulation, achy/tired legs, spider veins, minor varicose veins and those in an early stage of Chronic Venous Insufficiency.
